(Prior to Boston SIM monthly meeting held at same location)
Maxwell Dworkin Building / Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences

A principle challenge facing the IT industry is engaging more young people in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Boston SIM’s Outreach focus has intensified around this mission in recent years.
This year Boston SIM is excited to be partnering with Common Impact to plan and host an afternoon of volunteering and problem solving with STEM focused non-profits operating in the Boston area. SIM member teams will be pre-matched with leaders from these organizations to provide guidance on their specific challenges and to discuss common themes of interest in mixed sessions. These may include:
- Telling your Story with Data
- Expanding your Programs On-line with Cloud and Mobile Applications
- Enhancing the “T” and “E” in STEM programs
Non-profits expected to attend (up to 10 will participate with 2-3 representatives each) include:
- Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education (MBAE)
- Open Air Boston
- Boston PIC (and the Latino STEM Network)
- Science Club for Girls
- Digits
